Default 1988 Dodge D-150

I'm once again having problems with this truck when its cold. I warm it up, set the timing and TDC and the truck ones GREAT for one day. I've changed a lot of parts so far. Anyway, I also replaced the coolant sensor a while back. Now the truck is telling me that the coolant sensor is running out of parameters? I am changing the map sensor today as its probably the only sensor i haven't changed yet, hoping that maybe thats whats causing the problems, even though its not setting off the check engine light. The truck is running really rich. I already changed the O2 sensor, but after you let the truck sit over night after redoing all that stuff with timing, it runs like hell again, hesitation, spits and sputters. Runs a little bit better when warm, bit still not like it does when its first timed. Any ideas??

Recheck the timing to see if it is staying in time.

Understood but are you retiming it because it is not keeping in time or just to retime it and does it run good every time you retime it.

alright, after i retime the truck it runs great. It gets cold up here, like 10 degrees or so. When i let it sit out overnight and get super cold and start it the next day, it starts right up, idles fine, doesn't drive worth the crap. And then after i warm it up it still has issues, i redo the timing, runs great again. TOnight i removed the computer to find it looks a little fried. Black and cooked. I am buying a new one, however, when i'm looking online at Advance auto, its hard to figure out because there is like 15 that it says will fit my truck with no further description, but all the model numbers are different and so aren't the prices. any ideas?

Maybe a local dealer (Dodge) parts dep could run your VIN and tell you the correct PN. (you don't HAVE to buy at their price!!)
