Default Wheel question

Ok so. I have these wheels on my 1991 d150. I believe they are a 10 slot or something. I have been looking for a new set. What bolt pattern and all that do i need to look for? I really don't know much about rims and tires......would this work 5on 5.5 bolt pattern, 15 in, 9.5 ?

My door says 15 x 6.5. What does the 6.5 mean?

6.5 is the width of the wheel, 6.5", 15" diameter.

just found out today that the 1/2 ton trucks have a lug pattern of 5x5.5...WISH I FOUND OUT SOOOONER but oh well.

what wheels would look best on the 1st gen rams? ive read that 2nd gen ram wheels fit as well as lots of pre-2000 ford trucks and some early jeeps BUT i cant find any pics of any other wheels on our trucks.

You might want to check the prices on 17 inch tires. You will find out the savings on the wheels will be eaten up by the extra cost of the tires and the tires are a recurring expense.

The other measurement to check on the rims is the center hole size.

just like SEAL said, you have to watch out for the size of the hole in the center. the hole in the center of dodge rims are a bit larger than the ones on ford so you can put dodge rims on a ford but you can't put ford rims on a dodge without getting them machined. now i think some of those new ram rims might fit but before replacing the stock rims you might want to check tire prices. i know i can get a brand new set of stock size 15" tires for half the price of a set of 16" tires. the larger the tire the more money you have to pay to replace them.

tires arent the biggest issue for me. i kind of prefer a bigger rim with a bit of a thick tire..raises the ride height a bit. its finding rims that may look good on the ol' dodge at an affordable price thats the problem. i dont like the shiny chrome wheels. ive been leaning between the newer dodge or 2nd gen durango wheels. now i know to look out for newer jeep wheels as well.

The 1st gen durangos were 6 bolt, just like the dakota, so that pretty much rules them out. Are you running a passenger or light truck tire?
