Default Battery Pressurized?

Battery is building up pressure after driving a bit. Will pop the cps off the top. Just did top end rebuild and cannot see how this would affect the battery being overcharged,if this is what is happening..... Could I have messed up reassembly of alternator wiring? Any suggestions?

Have you hooked a multi-meter up to the battery when the truck is running, just to make sure there isn't an issue with over-charging?

sounds like your alternator is overcharging the battery. that is the only time i have heard of a battery blowing the top off.

Could it be the voltage regulator, if there is one?

it should be on the firewall behind the air filter. did you check the voltage at the battery with the truck running?

the best way to test the voltage regulator is by hooking up a digital multimeter to the battery and check the voltage while it is running. that battery gauge in your truck is not a voltage gauge, it is an amperage gauge. if it is over 15volts you definitely have a problem
