Just bought a 1989 dodge d100 pickup with a 318 for a cheap price did not expect it to run perfect but it cuts out every once in a while only when I come to a stop. It always starts right back up also. I changed the oil, put a fuel cleaner(bg brand) in the tank, changed the pcv, cleaned out the throttle body. I have noticed one of the injectors is dumping what looks like to much fuel. Engine runs good beside this issue any information would help me enjoy my first Dodge.
Does it just die or does it sound like it wants to keep going but can't? If it doesn't just die and tries to keep running, it is probably a fuel/carb issue. If it just cuts out, it is ignition.
Thanks for the replies. When it stops raining I will look at the injector in question to see if the fuel additive cleaned the injectors any. I finally pulled the codes after counting the flashes quite a few times and found I have a map sensor code. This might be one reason the injector is shooting so much fuel out. Had codes 14 and 21

Seems to just die when I stop almost like it was meant to do this
A bad MAP could definitely cause the code 21 and the symptoms you are experiencing. Make sure you are getting vacuum to the MAP. Any good manual will give you the voltage checks for the MAP but you will need a hand held vacuum source.
