Stroking a 318
#2
stroking a 318 is probably of the best way to get some good power out of 318 but i think you would also have to get a good cam, intake and carb to match.

318's were built to be reliable, 360s a much better choice...
me being a 318 owner, i did a summint 6901 cam, eddy intake an 600 carbs, headers with 2.5 exaust(no cats 10 series flows) msd coil, and electric fan..
and i bought this truck bone stock, and i mean bone stock...when those secondaries open it...it runs DAMN good for a 318..
and im still running stock heads etc..only internal stuff is that cam..an boy it sounds good...

well i did a mild build on a 87 318 years ago.bored .030 over,5 angle valve job, stock 87 heads(better choice cause of swirl ports),roller timing chain,340 cam,headers,600 holley, it had lots of torque and speed. never had it on a dyno though. lots of combos. for these engines out there.
not sure on the stroking thing, never looked into it,but i think it would be possible. good luck
