Where is the timing set at? Is the advance working in the distributor?

Also, have you checked for other vacuum leaks or misrouted vac lines

More info please. Is it automatic or manual? Will it idle on its own even if it is rough? Does it back fire thru the carb when you give it gas before it dies? What carb is on it and have the three carbs been new, rebuilt, or just used? Have you set the mixture screws? Was it doing this before the first carb change? Let us know about where the timing is set.

Could the spark plugs or wires etc cause the problems?

Have you pulled the distributor and looked at it? is the vacuum advance working correctly? What about the timing?

The timing we are all talking about checking is the ignition timing that is done using a timing light. Was it doing this before all of this work was done or has it started since the work began? Let us know about where the ignition timing is set.
