Default Rough ride, would Skyjacker solve the problem?

I have an original W250 1989 with Cummins. The suspention is very hard, and I would like to accomplish a more smooth and soft ride. The only not-oem I've found is suspention from Skyjacker. Anyone who has tried a set from this manufactorer?

I do not need lift, but Skyjacker has a one inch lift set that would do the trick, if, of course the set will provide a softer ride.

Anyone?

regards

The N.

i doubt it. its a truck. before you think about ordering a kit you may want to contact them and ask them if it is compatible with a truck that has a Cummins in it because i am pretty sure that Cummins weighs more than a gas engine.

The kit fits my truck. The question is wether the ride will get any softer or not when mounting it.

If you want a softer ride without giving up load capacity you should look into an air bag setup.

I have a Skyjacker lift on my Jeep and the springs are a lot stiffer than stock. I have heard that that is typical of Skyjacker springs.

Your jeep is a completely different animal than his Cummins.

Them 1st gen Cummins' are known for riding like a brick on wheels.

Have you called skyjacker and asked them your question?

Thanks for reply.

There are not som many of these trucks in Norway, only 14 to be excact, so I have nothing to compare with ;-)

I'm not that good in english to speak on a phone across the atlantic, so no, I've not talked to them. And there is no emailadress either for customer support.

I hoped someone here knew enough to give me the answers I needed.

I gave you an answer. It isn't cheap or easy but it will cure the stated problem. If you want a softer ride without giving up load capacity you should look into an air bag setup. A triangulated 4 link, a 4 link with hard pan bar, or a 3 link (all with air bags) will do away with the springs and give you control over the ride quality by varying the air pressure in the bags. 3/4 ton springs of any height just don't ride very well.
