Default choppy idle

i have this bit of a choppy idle when cold in drive when stopped. when it reaches normal operating temp. its still there a little. when its warmed up it just seems like a miss.
the only things i have not changed : cam sensor plate in dist.
: crank sensor
: air charge temp. sensor
: map sensor
: o2 sensor
: egr valve
everything else has been changed over the past 7-9 months
i also have no vaccume leaks, also has no blown plenum gasket
i have no check engine light on,also has no loss of power at any rpm.
could one of these things that i did not change be the problem??

i dont know yet i did not pull them,i will check on saturday. i put new ones in november, the ones i pull out then were black but it was running bad then due to a faulty computer. the present plugs are plain Autolites 1 range colder. it did 2 years ago idle smooth, could not even feel it running.
it seems like just over time it has got more noticiable.

hey crazzywolfie, i just pulled all the plugs out. they all have clean insulators,1-7 all have a slight white dust on the ground tab(bent piece)
#8 has clean white insulator but the ground tab had a slight dampness.
but 8 seemed to be firing good, may be the problem?? what would cause this??

With MPFI an injector that is not atomizing the fuel properly can cause that.

I work hard at being retired. LOL

I have been working on vehicles since I had to carry an old wooden milk crate around to be able to reach the windshields (for washing) at my dad's service station more than 50 years past. What knowledge I have was gained from the school of hard knocks, probably just like most everyone else on here. Different people have different skills. I have always been able to fix just about anything mechanical. I may have put more emphasis on this skill than most because when something didn't work, and my life and my team mates lives depended on it, I was the guy they turned to.

I think the years of our trucks are probably the hardest to troubleshoot because they were the transition years for todays electronic controlled vehicles. They aren't smart enough to tell you what is wrong but they are more complex than prior years. JMHO

well i tried the seafoam idea. dumped 2 cans in 1/2 tank ran for week. almost all highway @ 70-75,couple times i got on it hard took it up to 100.
runs really strong and has power, but still a little choppy idle.
i just figured the seafoam would loosen up something or clear it out.
but no luck so far. thank you

well just playing around,i did the plug wire re-routing that the TSB was put out for 94-99. its the same engine 5.2 magnum. so i figured i would give it a try. my symptoms seem to be what the TSB says.
i then took it out for a spin,a hell of a lot smoother when accelerating hard. seems also to have even more bottom end than before, and it was always great. to soon to tell about the choppy idle yet. i will be able to tell during the week to come. i drive 55 mi. round trip to work. thank you

yea the acceleration is alot smoother easier to pick up speed at higher rpm. the choppy idle or miss at idle at a stop light is still there. now what???
