Revisiting trans/engine swap
Yeah its pretty solid. Kinda hate to split it up. I kinda like the stock beat up look lol. Hopefully it wont too much to swap in my old auto into this thing so its not compleltly useless.
Might look into in but will the AC work with a 360?

Easiest way to tell the differene between NV3500 and NV4500: 3500's are aluminum cased, 4500's are cast Iron. Also, 3500 has an integral bellhousing, whereas the 4500's bellhousing is removable. So... Try to stick a magnet to it.
True, and worse case: Buy a pulley for the ac pump that matches the rest of your engine's pulleys. Usually around $10.
Can you pull the transmission out by itself or does the engine have to come out too? Trying to decide to wait to do the trans swap with the engine swap or go ahead and do the trans swap first
i think it would just be easier to do it all at once. just swap engine and transmission all at once. have you fixed your plenum gasket yet? may be a good time to do it if you have not already.
i think you might want to pop the top off it to make sure everything looks good. if there is no worn out parts there should be no reason to rebuild it. may just want to change the fluid while it is easy to do. hopefully Wombat Ranger will pop in here and correct me if i am wrong since he seems fairly familiar with them since he had to replace his once.
The whole front clip of your truck comes off pretty easily. Since you are talking about engine and tranny swaps, I would remove the whole darn thing, then take your engine and trans out as an assembly.
