Ah see this is why I posted this. I knew I would need a rear sump but didnt know the other stuff yall mentioned. As far as price goes, from what ive seen and I called a couple places last year when I was originally thinking about this and all the prices were in the same area. This one is more expensive but its much cheaper than any other crate Ive seen and I like the idea of it being new with a good warranty. But I dont want a big hassle swapping the engines though either.

Ill get in touch with MLR performance and maybe give Motor Works another call too.

That engine looks awesome too. Im not as interest in a stroker (ive heard they dont last as long) and my truck is my daily driver and I dont want to have to swap engines again. I dont mind paying more to get more out of a 360 that will last. I guess the plus to having someone build one up is they could build it specifically for my truck so it should be a simpler swap.

@sniper, thanks for the reference. Makes me feel better about trying to do it over weekends or days off.

@wolfie I really appreciate the info and how you asked someone on another site about my build.

On a last note, would there be any plus in going to a carb?

Going to a carb would keep you from having to mess with all the EFI computers and what not.

there is really no plus of going carbed. if anything it is a bit of a negative thing. you have to let the engine warm up before you drive where with a fuel injected vehicle you can pretty much take off immediately if you needed. plus i think you would get more power out of the 360 if you kept if fuel injected.

I don't have to let my 76 warm up....

Granted, I also don't drive it when it's cold outside. (heat is a pain to work)

i think fuel injection would get you better gas mileage and more power than carb.

good. Ive been doing some research on the 408 stroker and ive seen some good reveiws on them. What do yall know about them and is what I mentioned earlier about strokers not lasting as long true? Like i said my truck is my daily driver and I want this engine to last but I want it to have power and speed. And the 408 isnt looking too expensive. And it also sound like you get more HP and TQ out of a stroker at lower RPMs which is good

i think whether they last or not depends of how you treat and maintain them. i think if you were to use good oil in the engine after it is broken in it should last just as long as any other engine out there. could possibly be another good question to ask Mike at mrlperformance. i think he might have a good idea since all he does is mopar engines.

I will definetly ask. And I dont drive too crazy might race a little with a powerful engine though

Another thing about making alot of power is how will my driveshaft, axles, tranny, and tcase stand up to potential 400+ hp and tq

the only thing i might be a bit worried about is the tcase. i think the nv4500 should not have too much of an issue with the power. i also think those axles you have should have no issues what so ever with the power. i am pretty sure the drive shafts should be fine.
