i think instead of my orignal plan im thinking of buy a 440 crate engine and instead of the old muscle truck im going to go for a grand touring look. and now i have more questions, what transmission with work with a 440 but yet still fit in my truck? will i need different motor mounts? can i do a suspension with a 70s model charger or chanegller or like a 99 mustang? how can i change my lug nut pattern and get around my front hubs? is this even possible? which motor can i get the better perfomance out of 440 big block or 408 stroker engine? any advice im up to hear thanks.

You will need the motor mounts from a big block truck, as well as the oil pan.
I don't think there would be significant improvement from switching to a vintage mopar suspension setup, plus you would have to deal with torsion bars. A sn95 mustang suspension swap would probably help, but be very difficult and costly. I don't think such a swap has been done before. It begs the question: why? Our stock 2wd front suspension isn't all that bad. Make sure all the bushings, bearings, and balljoints are fresh and high quality, replace or rebuild the steering box and column, ensure a good swaybar is in place, and you should have a decent handling truck.
Rams came with a 4.5x4 and 5.5x5 bolt pattern through the years, and parts to convert to both are available. I haven't heard of anybody converting to a more compact hub design.

alright well i want lower my truck the right way, but nobody makes a kit. i dont want to cut the spring i dont want to remove leaf spring, i want the right way. i know on the back i can buy a shackle kit and use them inverse to lower but the front it where im stuck. ive been told if i cut the springs it can mess up my camber and may not be fixible. ive heard i can get parts from a dodge van and lower it, but i want to know the best and right way to lower my truck. im planning on sinking money into because if i build my truck my way it will be just like buying a new car but it'll be what i want how i want it.

If you are going from a 318 to a 440, in a stock d150, I think you might drop down some just from the weight. The suspensions in those were pretty soft up front. The 318 weighs (fully dressed) about 525 lbs, whereas the 440 is a solid 670 lbs. Basically, have someone that weighs 150 lbs stand on your front bumper, and that is where your truck will sit with a big block.
