It is quite thr process to hot link a video. But link them with thr URL and we can view them unless the host has a password and login needed to view them.

im also interested in getting new cam hoping to get some more power and a nice lopy idle i found lots of different cams for the 400 on summit racing i narrowed them down to what id use them for. theres 2 that poped up for 4x4ing.

first one is a CompCam hi-tech 3045-8 made for "mud racing" says works best with 4500 converter and 390+ bigblock. $192 for cam and lifters
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cca-10-610-5

next one is a Summit Racing cam/lifters SUM-K6400 for off road 4x4 it says and it also says it works with stock stall converter and dont need anything really. and its $114
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/su...iew/make/dodge

there is also "street/strip" ones aswell that may work for me. im looking for a nice lopy idle + performance but not something over kill that will affect my offroading. i do go mudding every now and then and enjoy it more but i seem to always do more trail riding and adventures (i ride with jeeps)

let me know what you guys would reccomend

A "loppy" idle will give you problems when going slow when control is necessary. Street\strip type cams are not at all useful on an offroad toy unless it is a mud truck.

Just get a good RV type cam that will give you more low-end power where you need it.

okay so probably the cam made for "4x4 offroad" would probaly be the best one its also cheaper too.

You can install "lunch box" lockers which are the easiest and the cheapest. They can be installed, normally, without having to remove the carrier.

A better solution is a selectable locker but they require the carrier to be reshimed and the pinion depth set. Not a terribly hard job but special tools are required and patience.
and i honestly dont know what i have i read that its a dana 44 and im assuming it has the stock gears that are like 3.55 or something? im wanting to lift the truck some time and get 33's or 35s so id have to change gear ratio. and i dont like the one wheel peel busness and where do i find these "lunch box" lockers

thanks

33's should use 4.10, 35's should use 4.56, unless you need more power, then move up to 4.56, 4.88.

4:56 for 35's is a very good gear ratio.

If you are going to 35's you really need to step up to Dana 60's. The stock 1/2 axles D44 front and probably 9.25 rear axle are not going to hold up well with the additional weight from the 35's and the brakes will suck!

You will also have problems finding carriers for larger gears for the 9.25 rear axle if that is what you have.

Besides, by the time you buy new gears, bearings, install kits and carriers or lockers you would have been better off finding a set of D60's with 4.10's in them.

Lunch box lockers are like Lock Rites, spartan lockers etc. You can find them at Randy's Ring and Pinion or most other good online supply houses.

Almost all D60's would already have 3.55's more likely. And there are plenty of guys running the D44/9.25 combo with 4.88's and 35's. The 9.25 is actually a good axle when freshened up. It's just better to have a D60 as parts are a little easier to find.

okay so what vehicles would roughly have the dana 60's that i could swap over. since i have a set of 33's pretty much new and could easily last a year or so. should i just find a lunch box and leave the gears for now and then when tires wear out go find a dana 60 and get some 35's? and if i threw a lift on it would i still be able to swap axles without replaceing the lift?
