Default Exhaust shots

Well, I wasn't able to run the exhaust like I wanted but here are a few shots. I went with a 2 in 2 out with a built in X pipe in the muffler. i also had them install some clamps just passed the headers so that I could pull the motor if something doesn't go as planned. They will be removed and welded after everything is dialed in. also the drivers side pipe was run behind the trans in ccase the trans has to be pulled

Default Engine has Fired

Yesterday was a big day!!!! Finally fired the motor and broke it in!!!! I was a bit nervous because you never know what all is going to go wrong when you do a rebuild like this. I really don't want to have to yank the motor or trans back out. Now of course there are always some bugs to work out, which is expected, but I did pretty good. I had no engine or tranny leaks!!! I did however have a small header leak and my steering box decided to puke all the fluid, but I can live with that!!! The exhaust sounds great as well. I am very pleased

I am really interested in the headers and exhaust routing. Part number and application and any clearance issues would be nice.
Here are the headers I used. i went with the summit brand which are made by the same company as Patriot but just not as nice. After firing that motor the ceramic really didnt look so good and the passenger side has a leak. They aerent quite the quality I was hoping for. I have seen the patriots and they are much better. However the summit brand was almost 100 bucks cheaper

. Wow at nearly $300 you would expect more from them. Header prices have gone through the roof. So have the price of a quality battery. They have more than doubled in the last 3 years. I don't know if its inflation or gouging.

Very true....
the headers are ceramic coated but I could tell they weren't quite the quality of the Patriots. At one point I had the collectors glowing red hot at break in. If I thought about it a little more when purchasing them I would have gone with the Patriots. Yeah, the price is steep, but you're never going to have to replace them.
Very true about the batteries. I went and bought a budget one to fire this truck up with and was blown away at the prices. I think its because lead has to be processed over seas now and brought back.

Man that really came out nice, good job all the way around. Looks like you started with a very nice survivor and turned it into a great complement to your Dart.
