Hhhhmmm... that may be part of the problem. These engines simply don't like aftermarket sensors in critical locations..... The mopar sensors aren't precisely cheap though..... Don't suppose you know anyone with an engine scope, that could check and see what kind of signal you were getting from the crank sensor?

Well, I didn't think Mopar still had parts for this old of a van. Most things I call them about are discontinued. I will check with them. I don't have access to any sort of diagnostic gear. If I could find something affordable that would help I'd buy it. I have no plans to retire the truck after 12 years. I enjoy it too much, when it's behaving anyways.

Get a crank and cam (delphi brand) sensor and i think this will solve your problem. I had the issue with aftermarket junk sensors failing a few months after they where put in. Didn't throw a code either and my truck is OBD2. It would drop out (not send signal to pcm) and the ignition would cut off for a split second (sometimes longer and stall no matter what rpm).

Well, finding and affording these sensors proved to be a challenge......I'm waiting on shipment at present. Once they are here, installed and checked by driving I'll report back. Might be awhile, but I will get back to the thread.

So, the Mopar brand crank sensor arrived and was installed last Saturday. I drove the van around the area all weekend without incident. I drove it to work today, 80 miles round trip, mostly highway speeds, but some ground roads also without incident. A bit early to call success, but it was nice to not have it stall all day. I will continue driving and report back when the cam sensor is installed.

So, I've driven the van about 800 miles, two weeks worth of commuting without it stalling. I am guessing the Mopar crank sensor was the fix. I'm holding off on doing anything else for awhile to see how it does. I got my company car last week, so the van is a weekends only truck for now. I appreciate the advice and feedback on the forum. Thanks guys!
