just replace the pump. it is about the only thing you can do for the 88-90 trucks. it is cheaper to do that anyways instead of replacing the whole assembly. the 88-90 assemblies are nearly impossible to find so they are usually stupid expensive if you do find them.

I think i seen a thread somewhere that you can use the 91 and up years but you need to change something because it was different compared to the 88-90 units.

Thanks Guys ... I found a thread somewhere in this forum about a company called TRI-STARR in north central NY that rebuilds these modules. I talked to them on the phone. I am going to have them rebuild it. i will let you know how it comes out.
After hours and hours of searching, and having other contacts searching too. these modules(88-89-90) are unattainable !!!

For some reason it's not working, I'll try the link from google here

If that doesn't work do a google search for this " How To: Retrofit newer fuel pump assembly to 1989-1990 Dodge Ram Gassers " it is the first link that shows up.

I took my fuel pump module to TRI-STARR in Seneca Falls N.Y. After driving this truck daily for a month i have not had any problems. Tri Starr did an excellent job rebuilding this unit... as replacements are impossible to find. (www.tristarrradiator.com)
