Need to get a hold of a factory service manual for my 84 D150, in particular I need the wiring diagram. I have the wiring diagram from my Haynes manual but it is very basic and I think it contains errors as the wiring colours shown are different to whats on my truck.
Plus I can't find the reference for the wiring to the ballast resistor.
Ballast is 2 pole. That diagram helps a lot. I've been remaking some harnesses and kind of doing my head in. Would I be right in assuming when the say a certain circuit is labelled J9A-14 Pk that the wire is 14 gauge and the colour is pink ??
Crazzy, do you have the manual that the above diagram came from, if so could you possibly scan it at a higher resolution for me. I have done this with the diagrams out of my Haynes manual and blew up the size so I could print them on A3 paper, then clear laminated them. Makes it a bit easier to follow them
yup they are not cheap which is why i have never bought one. i think you can buy a digital copy online for about $30 but never needed one enough to justify buying one. most of the time the 87 and older ones are so simple that you really don't need them.
Those diagrams are a big help. The colour code in my diagram says red wire from coil to ballast. The one on my truck is Pink. I reasoned it may have faded over the years but even the section that was wrapped in insulation is pink so that idea just went out the window.
But your schematic makes it all clear now
