Default I need help I got a 1988 dodge D100 with a 360

I just purchased a 1988 Dodge D100 with a 360 The previous owner put a cam & edelbrock Carburetor got it bored and is currently running on low gears has straight pipes it’s really loud & sounds ****ing amazing but the horsepower just isn’t there I’m looking for a more modern engine I want to stick with the Dodge V8 maybe something with a turbo Does anybody have an idea of what engine I can go and purchase and drop it in there without having to do too much work? P.s would a viper engine and transmission work on my 1988 dodge d150 shortbed?

You got the cash for viper motor? With those mods it should have power. Does the cam have a lope to it? And what is low gears?

im not sure about the lope in the cam it’s running High RPM on low gears that’s what the guy told me I barley had the truck for 2weeks I found a guy selling a used viper engine with 88k miles for $7,000 with transmission I want to buy it but not sure if it will fit I don’t want to buy it just to have it sitting around in the garage

without having to do too much work?
I think that would exclude the viper motor. Fabrication will be needed to be done are you going to be the one to install it? If you have the cash to put out it can be done. I think a more realistic solution would be to install a A500 trans(overdrive).

the fabrication needed to drop a viper motor in is minor. the hard parts to find would likely be the brake/clutch pedal assembly for a hydraulic clutch since i think they only made them for 4 year and there is a possibility you may have to move the bulkhead connector to install that hydraulic master cylinder since you have a 88 cab. on the newer cabs the bulkhead connector got moved over.

I am in Maryland and could you keep me in mind should you decide to let the 360 go?
You are getting the PCM, and wiring harness with the viper motor, all the intake all the exhaust, and all the exhaust sensors? Cats as well?

Else I would assume you work at Canaveral or Goddard Space Flight Center? Space X?

I would turn you away if this is a first time fabrication project. The first gen brakes and suspension are totally inadequate for that kind of power. The rear would be iffy as well.

You could be looking at a north of $20K project. Way north.
