A drag truck. I want to put Hoosiers on the rears and skinnies up front and run a 9 second pass.
With all the extra weight of the transfer case and front axle(not to mention the truck itself)? I want to see this!

I don’t know that I’d be able to do it anyway. That’s kind of the point of asking these questions before I buy a crate motor and try to slap it in the truck. And yes I know you don’t have to lower it but I would want it lowered if I could do it. Essentially what I’m trying to do here is take the entirety of a 2018+ mustang except for the body and frame itself, and jam that mother into my truck. It’d drive a lot better lowered and look a lot better imo. At least for the purpose I want this truck to serve. Lift kits aren’t bad and that’s the plan for this truck if I can’t figure out a way for this motor swap to work, but I’m trying to get some info here in hopes I can make it happen

Its actually quite easy to lower a truck that has leaf springs all the way around, but, the ride is absolutely horrid.

not really. yes you can take some leafs out but even if your sitting on the bump stops it would still likely be sitting pretty high. you would likely have to remove the leaf springs and weld the axle to the frame to get it remotely lower and possibly sitting like a d250 which is still not ideal for racing.

could always look for a 2wd frame and swing your body over to it but personally i would just enjoy your truck as is especially if you got the 5.2 magnum. it is probably just as good if not better than the 5.9 in 92.
