I have had this truck for a number of years and never really needed or paid attention to the four-wheel-drive mode. I do not believe I have proper vacuum requirements when in 2 WD and 4WD. How does the vacuum direction change to the actuator is my question? When in 2 WD the outside port should be under vacuum, and when in 4 WD the inside port should be under vacuum is my understanding. What mechanism changes that direction when you physically shift into four-wheel-drive? Is there a directional switch/valve that I’m missing?
Hey all, figured out with a little more following the vacuum lines. Found the transfer case switch and replaced it and we are back in order. I added these photos for reference purposes, you can see in the one photo that the spring loaded button is stuck and therefore rendering the switch inactive. It was a chore to change, but did the trick. Thanks for the help.
