Question Hard brake pedal and discharge noise.

Hi all,

Last night on my drive home, my 2008 Avenger went into limp mode. After further discovery, it needed more oil. I've added more oil to the engine but the car is still in limp mode and the oil warning light is still present. While limping it back home, my brakes failed on me. I have a hard brake pedal which only seems to get lighter when heavy acceleration. However, anything between 2000-2500rpm, there's a sudden "pop" and hissing noise. Just like a dump valve has gone off. This still gives me a hard pedal and next to none braking.

Has anybody got any ideas or know of a post where a similar scenario had happened.

As a newbie here, I'd thought I'll add a picture of the car in question. So here she is:

Thank you for your time, any help is appreciated,

Adam Shellard.

Okay, after scanning for codes, the P0401 Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected.

After removing and replacing the EGR valve, the problem still
lays.

Now starting to look towards a new oil pump. And maybe a new turbo...
