Default Stripped out caliper bolt hole...help!

I have a 94 4x4 dakota that i bought about a month ago and the drivers side brakes were making weird noises so i pulled it apart and the caliper was only held on with one bolt! I bought a new bolt set and then found that the top mounting hole is stripped out so i did some searching on this forum and ended up buying the oversize caliper bolt from Napa after seeing a few people on here used it with good results but the bolt wont even start to thread in. If you fixed yours this way did it thread right in for you?
Any other ways to fix it?

Im dealing with the same issue on a little chevy cavalier that a buddy of mine just bought. His front passenger side only has one bolt and the helicoil for his is $87. Its a m11x1.5 so im going to drill and tap it to the closes standard thread.

The oversized bolt will cut new threads in the hole as it goes in so no it won't just screw in at the beginning.

NO!!! The caliper has to be able to slide in and out on the caliper bolt. DO NOT bolt it stationary!!!

That's what I've been trying to get it to do but it wont even catch and start cutting new threads it just keeps spinning on the end like the bolt is to big for the hole

The threads on the standard caliper is M9-1.25. With a stripped thread type deal the over sized bolt is designed to use the stripped size of the hole and cut new threads in the spindle. Try applying some pressure inward while turning the bolt and see if that helps. Also it's a lot easier to do with the caliper removed.

That's what I've been trying it just doesn't want to go so I'm wondering if maybe the threads or something are messed up on the end of the bolt even though they look fine. Ive wondered a few times if it's even the right bolt because it seems huge for the hole and the bolt head sticks out an inch or more farther than in needs to in the back and the spacer thing doesn't even fit through the rubber piece so it doesn't seem right
