i was told to NEVER NEVER EVER tow with o/d on EVER. an empty cargo trailer, 4 grown adults or 750 lbs in the bed is enough to demand to much on our trans. i have driven at 75 mph for 3 plus hours with a 2200lb camper without a problem.(except on gas$$)

I had a 3,400 lb loaded trailer behind my truck last week had od off all the time but did turn it on just to see how it would act needless to say hit od once and for about 10 sec then it kicked back down so I just left it off but I was really surprised that my truck really didnt have a problem with 3,400 lbs

I'm running a V6 so my truck doesn't have the towing power you V8 guys have.

only time i've turned mine off is when theres snow on the ground but don't need the 4wheel drive yet.

i tried turning it off today in town, but i forgot when i went on the highway. didn't really sound good at 90, don't think anything broke may be a little hot tho.

if you are on the economy tune and you drive like a grandma then you could pick up 2-4, is my guess.
