17's for a 318? that sounds horrible. My 3.9 runs 17.4's all day. I would say that you would probably win if that's the original engine in that mustang, but racing for money is stupid. just for that i hopeyou lose your money, especially if you're racing on the street.

I would say for a 4x4 and 31's. 17 is pretty good.

yea, for a 4x4 with 31 inch tires, 17 seconds isnt that bad, however THATS WHY YOU SHOULDNT RACE IT. IT'S SLOW. im sure it's capable offroad, but thats slow. if you wanted a fast truck you shoulda got one that wasnt 4x4 and not put 31 inch tires on it.

if its a poor runner then you should be able to take him. id watch out he could be pulling your leg and making it run bad so you think its runing bad. A couple of turns of air fuel mix and some retiming he could have a sleeper

ya, racing a 4x4 truck is piontless. but its nice to know what your truck is capable of.

theres diesel rams out there doin 12's. now thats something to be proud of I seen one that was in the 8's there was black smoke everwhere my dream truck is a diesel[sm=drooldude.gif]

My best friend has a 98? i think its a 98 with the 12 valve cummins. Anyways its runs an 11.3. ****s black smoke everytime you touch the gas. One fast truck. It has so much done to it (injectors, exhaust, aftermarket turbo, aftermarket tranny, cam, some kind of chip) so much stuff I dont think I could name it all. Seems like a waste of money I'd rather have a boat to pull behind my truck but whatever. Its one of the fastest trucks in salt lake city.

It's somewhat hard to tell by ear - there's a fine line between a built motor that's on the ragged edge of not being streetable and a motor that's about to puke a rod. They can sound really similar, especially if the dying one has a decent exhaust.

I'm not going to race him on the street I'm going to race him at KCIR here in Kansas City. They havebracket racing going on April 21. I'm going to race him on the Trial runs so we start at the same time. I think I'll race him for bumber stickers. If I win he has to get a sticker that says "Dodge Dakota's Rule and Mustangs Suck" and the opposite if he wins. If you saw his car you would want to race him to. I just want him to shut the **** up.
