yea i was at napa and they said that 4.7s only have the 195 and tellin me how they are "special". So do I just give em that number then?

 

yeah...thats what i found out also. I called 4 or 5 places and the only ones they had were the 195*. So....i think i will just order mine online when i get around to it. Did you try any performance shops?? Not sure if they would have em, but they might.

 

Folks, I too was looking around for the 180 stat: Autozone, Checker, Advanced, Car Quest, and ALL said 195 deg. was all any of their books listed. I asked to pull the stat for the 4.7 & the 5.9. The 4.7 is way different. In addition to the rubber gasket/O type ring, it also has a brass looking nipple that looks like when it's open, it closes a bypass valve. Any suggestions on using a stat without that mechanism in a 4.7?
