Default Installing Subwoofers

I am looking to install subwoofers in my 1999 Dodge dakota single cab, and I'm looking to put them behind my seats, does any one know a good site or place to look for the subboxes?

http://www.crutchfield.com/ might be a good place to start. To bad you dont have a Club or Quad cab, then you could look into the MTX Thunderforms that form into stock portions of your dak. I just checked and they didnt have anything for a single cab though.

how tall are you? if your shorter and can afford to move your seat ahead a lil bit, them you should be fine with a 10" behind the seat.

Qlogic makes ported at none ported 10" Truck Boxes..

look at my gallery and you can see my boxes and how they looks.

I have 2x 10" Alpine Type E subs behind each seat, and a 400wat alpine Amp under the passanger seat, in a s/c you dont need 12s.. the air space in a s/c makes the 10's sound better then someone with 2 12s in a SUV..

and imo go with Alpine.. Type es are pretty cheap and they hit HARD.. my radar dances on my windshield and ive cracked my windshield before with the type e's ...

check my gallery.

I have a 99' Dakota R/T single cab and I came across the same problem and i looked EVERYWHERE! and could not find a good box with the right mounting depth. I ended up having to build one. It was $23 for a sheet of MDF (Lowes) wood and $4 for some luquid nails.
I ended up putting one 12" Infinity, which im acually surprised how good it sounds (behind passenger) with a 1000 watt Kenwood Class D amp (mounted behind Driver). I went to JoAnn fabrics and bought 1yd you red fabric, a can of liquid adhesive, a few screws and some black edging and i looks totally professional! not to mention its soooo dam loud! (you dont need much in a single cab).

I really dont like the sound of 10"s in my truck (i had a Type-E 10" and i was unhappy with it... preference i guess). to me a 12" has a lot better bass/sound then 10"s

It was a total of $35 all said and done. It took me about 3 hours or so to build (because of the dementions problem). Im not carpenter but there is not a single air leak in the box

The hardest thing was finding out the Dementions of the box. If want to build your own i can save you some time and stress and give you the measurements of my box.

Ill post some pics and show you what it looks like if you would like.

P.S i am 6' 1" 175lbs and i fit pretty well in the passenger seat.
