what does a 2000 dakota weigh, reg cab 2wd v8...............also other combos quad cab or 4wd...........also not interested in door label weight, i would like to know actual weight as if you took it to the local weight station.....thanx

 

well somewhere over 4000 pounds. Might as well just take it to the weigh station cuz I don't think anyone here actually weighed their truck.

 

mopar street truck manualrates a V8 short wheelbase 2wd between 3600-3900

 

I recently hauled a load of rubbish to a transfer station, and got weighed both loaded and empty.
Empty, the truck tipped the scales @ 3,960lbs. (accuracy of scales unknown)
That was with, ~11 gals. of fuel, 4.7L, manual tranny, 4x4, 9.25 rear, 15x8 factory alloys, 31-10.50 Firestone Destination A/Ts, and a trailer hitch.

door frame DOES NOT list actual vehicle weight it lists GVWR and that is full tank full load of passengers and lugage

 

o sry i didnt look, just know alot of that stuff is listed ont here, but the curb weight is in the manual somewhere, couldnt tell you where, but it is in there

 

One thing you will notice the Dakota is not the much lighter than a full sized RAM.....that is why so many get the V6 and first thing they do is look at ways to increase the power.....V8

 

thats very true, short wheelbase ram 2wd v894-02 is 3800-4100 and the dakota is 3600-3900 so you could actually buy a dakota thats heavier than a ram depending on options

daknblack, is that weight with you in the truck or is that just the truck?
