You might also want to make sure you get one that detects laser as that's getting real popular on major highways and interstates! Most false alarms can be gotten rid of using the city/highway switch, which cuts out X-band for city driving.

BS military radar is on entirly different frequicies than police radar and a fuzebuster will not detect them.

And neither is my neighbors garage door but my fuzzbuster detects that too.

Not all door openers are X band..

I use to work at Best Buy, Albertsons and some other palces, they read Kband to the radars.

X Band is more for weather ballons and ****.. i never get x band on mine unless i go by a weather ballon...

Cops dont use X at all anymore.. where i live. so i turned it off.

There are 5 bands cops use in the US

K
KA
KU
Lazer
Pop

K- Not used that often, more like trains and door openers use this and comapny alarms.
KA- Used alot by police on highways and city roads.. This is the most common band used right now.
KU- New to the US. Was used in Europe for awhile. Certian citys have these bands on there cruisers, (if you have an escort, you can send it in and they will update the radar to have KU
Lazer (lidar)- Only used by Motorcyle and Statetrooper cops, Cops can NOT be moving while shooting lidar.. it will send the wrong signal.. biker cops cant ride at nighttime so it only leaves you with the Troopers.. Most of the time on highways, i see them about 1once a week out here.. not to bad. but if you do get hit with lidar your screwed unless you have a shifter (500$ ad-on for escort radars) just pull over and tuirn the car off and let them pul up.. its over..
POP - This is when 1 cop sits on a bridge and 4 cruisers are on the off ramp/onramp and they pop 4 cars at a time.. Again like lazer once your hit.. its over.. give up. They dont use pop in in DFW so i turned it off..

I turned off
X
Lazer
POP

only have K and KA on..

havent had a ticket for 2 years, Im using a exscort 8500 BLUE

about to upgrade to the escort lazer shifter...

i know all this becuase i talk to cops alot, and i also use to sell this **** at best buy for 2 years, KU is very new, but if you see it on the ticket that they used KU and you have a escort send it to escort and they will pay the ticket and upgrade the unit for free...

err...

any other questions lol..

Oh really? Guess I'll have to tell the sheriff and local cops they don't have a lazer unit in their hands. Sheriff here has had lazer since the late '90's and my small city has had it for at least 3 or 4 years.

ya sheriffs have them to.. forgot to mention that.. small citys are the worst with lazer, i livr in Justin, TX small city right by the Texas Motor Speedway, and the sheriff has it, they dot have any bikers, and the Suvs and cruisers use KA.

and when you get a ticket with laser, make them show you the gun, along with any gun.. it says on your ticket what type of band they use to track your speed, its amazing they even have a spot for "Paced speed" or somthing, so they can give you a ticket for what they THINK you where going.

my g/f has a 5speed toyota and cop said she was going 55 around a corner, she was in 2nd gear.. that bitch would have been redlined lol, and rolling across the street due to the crappy 20year old suspension...

and the judge bought it and gave her a ticket... man i love it.

the only reason i dont have a radar detector is because if you DO get pulled over, and a cop sees that you have one, your chances of getting out of the ticket are slim to none. regardless if you were pulled over for speeding or something else. your best protection from not getting pulled over is to not go more than 4 or 5 over the speed limit. i used to be a real idiot when i was younger and ended up getting 8 points on my license. i finally figured out speeding and doing burnouts arent worth it. if you really want to race someone, take it to the drag strip, its alot more fun and you dont have to worry about cops.

thats why you hardwire it in your car where the cop cant see it standing at the window.. mine is at the very top above the rearview mirror.. only way you can see it is if they stick there head in the window and look up.. and there is no wires hanging down its all hiden from view and hardwired to my radio..

they also make radars that cling to the gauge cluster and you dont have anything in the window.. they dont know you have it..

only way to tell is if you tell them.

If you go the speedlimit here your more then likley to get rearended, most people here go about 10-15 miles over on highway and 5-10 on city streets.

everyone is in a rush to get to work, and the sad thing is most of the time your sitting in traffic going 30miles less then the speedlimit.. its fun, and i love the smell of coolent in the morning.

is that a decent unit it detects x,k,ka,and vg2 and laser bands? would that one be worth the money or would it just backfire on me?
