and when you get a ticket with laser, make them show you the gun, along with any gun..

it says on your ticket what type of band they use to track your speed,

its amazing they even have a spot for "Paced speed" or somthing, so they can give you a ticket for what they THINK you where going.
You don't think he'll mind if I ask to see his Glock?
Maybe in Texas it might show what band but not here.
Paced Speed would be when they are behind you and driving the same speed as you.

I guess most of you fella's are a little more fortunate than some of us guys up North. Some provinces in Canada have banned radar detectors. As long as 8-10 years ago I was cruising down the road, the detector didn't even blink, obviously older technology at the time but I got pulled over and the cop asked if I had a radar detector. I knew at the time they were banned. I wasn't speading and I figured I would fess up and tell him the truth. I had him show me how he knew, they had a radar detector, detector. It only worked when I passed where ever it was he was sitting and once he lost my signal he knew it was my car. Not sure on the principal really how it worked but he could detect the signal that was emitting from my detector, blah blah blah, I have no idea. Just sucked though, atleast he never made me pay the fine, just took it away. Likely gave it to his kid.

Oh an pitkanen...I am happy to see joni playing in Edmonton this year!

Ive asked a cop top show me his Glock, and he did.. whats wrong about it? As long as i dont hold it and he takes the clip out and saftey engaged... ive had many cops show me there guns? Who cars? Whats the point of that remark anyways?

Ya in texas it has a section for the cop to circle or Check for which band he used, and a little area for paced speed.. Each state has diffrent rules, the whole damn U.S isnt going to be the same, just like a coupel of states banned Radars and wont let you use them.. and BTW thats what VG2 is for, some cops have scanners that can scann to see if you have a radar and can pull you over for it. VG2 protects you from that scanner so they cant get you. But its useless in most of the states.. i forgot which states it was but i think only 2 of them out of the 48 not inculding Alaska and Hawai ,its against the law to have a radar detector.

Lakota169 - i dont know what your problem is, your comming off as a bit pissed off or somthing towards me, im guessing you are/used to be a cop?

O and btw, cops dont always follow the rules they are not 100% good.. they use the paced speed as lee-way to pull you over.. how can they say how fast you are going around a corner unless they are doing the same thing? My g/f got paced going around a corner at a rediculous speed and the cop was not behind her... some cops are just ********. With my experiance with cops 50/50 of them are nice/********. My uncle is a cop and he thinks he owns the ****ing word cuz he has a badge.. hes another one of the ******* cops.. the ones that pull you over for farting to loud in your own car..

Any cop that would take his gun out to show somebody is an idiot, and he's a bigger idiot if he removes the magazine (btw, there is still a round in the chamber). He's just looking to get himself killed. And Glocks don't have an external safety.

What do you mean harwire into the cluster? Like a external gauge or somthing? I dont know about that.. but i do know escort and some other brands make a little device that sits by the guage cluster that hardwires into any accsesory wire..

these are what im talking about they can be mounted ontop of the steering column... and hardwired in..

My radar is sitting right above the left side of my rearview mirror, i have the wire running through my headliner into my side fusebox, connected to a groundand my Radio Fuse.. so it comes on when the radio is on, you can wire it up to anything pretty much, i just dont like the constant power to it from my 12volt slot.. it always stayed on.. anda bright blue light is a perfect target for thiefs, also where i have it you cant see it from the outside and nore can you see it from the side like if a cop was looking in.. and no wires are showing so it looks like i dont have anything, also with the escort they give you a seperate mute button that blinks when your radar is going off.. i mounted theat under the steering column facing my eyes, so when i have my music loud and i cant hear the radar a red light with flash at me, so i know to slow down.. and also if you want to mute it you can with that instead of reaching up and looking suspicios(sp?) you can just reach down without moving your body and mute it..

ill take pics tomorrow its pretty late right now.. about to go to bed.

the thing with cobras, is that the range is no where near as good as escort or val. I was able to pick up a SUV coper on top of a hill shooting people about 1/2mile away ontop of a hill.. the cobra would probably start picking it up close to top of the hill..

Cobras are better for the people that dont speed and just want to know there is a cop around so they can be cool and make sure they are not speeding.

I got the escort because i knew i was going to speed everywhere, and i needed the best i could get (at the time) so far so good with the escort.

They came out with a new one.. I have the 8500 they got thr 9500 now that can store memory and block false alarms.. its amazing.. im thinking of upgrading.. but i have to wait till they make it in blue, cant stand red, everything else in my cab is blue.. gota have it matching.
