Default Problem with acceleration

Under acceleration, my truck seems like it surges from about 1700-2200 rpm. Does it the worst in 3rd gear. Ive only had the truck for about 3 months. Its an 04' 4.7l 4x4 with 42000 miles on it. Last week I installed a Fastman throttle body. My gas miliage went up about 1 mpg and the surging got alittle better but is still there. I really dont think its the clutch slipping.

Are there any ways test O2 sensors to see if they are bad?

Thanks,
Justin

The 4.7 uses coils instead of wires, but check to see if they need to be replaced. Also, keep in mind that you will loose some low-end torque with the larger throttle body.

Ok, I just drove home and from stop light to stop light, accelerating smooth, it didnt surge. Right before I got home I got on it real hard and it surged all the way from 1500 to 2500 rpm.

I changed the plugs 3300 miles ago. Going to replace the TPS this weekend.

Put in Autolite 3923s. No check engine light. It was doing the surging before the spark plug change
