Wat kind of grade do i put in the diff?? wat are you guys running? I dont have to add L.S. addiditive. and how do i drain it and fill it back up? also when filling it up, fill it below the whole? Alsowat color is the stock fluid, mine its brownish black right now and is pretty low below the whole. Im thinking its time to re-do it now.

I THINK i put 75w90 Gear oil. Ill have to check tomorrow i got an extra bottle in in the garadge, the normal color should be a little darker then then clean oil. If its brown and looks like chocolate milk or somthing it needs to be changed and yes you should be able to stick your finger in the hole and feel fluid.. if you dont its low and you need to fill it up or change it...

you will need a tube of silicone, and some tools to take off the pumpkin. make sure you dont take all tjhe screws out at once and let it drop down oil will get everywhere, but useally the silicone hold it no.. get a pry bar or a screw driver or somthing and pull the punkin from the case and let the fluid drain out then take all the little metal shavings off the bottom of the case.. if you have big chunks.. thats not good lol.

Scrape off ALL of the old silicone from the pumkin and the case.. till you see nothing but metal. Clean it off good and put the pumkin back on after putting some silicone all around it.. put the screws back in and let the silicone dry.. 30min should be fine, fill it back up.. mine only took 2 bottles of Royal Purple i bought 3.. o well.

well, i wont be doing any towing for awhile. Saving for a boat right now so maybe i should just put it on to be safe. then it saves me from doing it again for awhile if i end up buying a boat. wat kind of silicone should i be using? Is there any difference between 75w90 and the 75W140?

thanks

yup the 75w90 is normal and 75w140 is synthetic plus it goes thicker when warm.

illl think ill just be running the 75w90. Unless the 75w140 has a better advantage? But im hoping it will run better afterwards. Next ill be doing the tranny and then the motor. Althou im not too sure about the motor if i wanna run synthetic or not? Im thinking about this one? lol and how long do you guys change your oil, every 10,000 with running royal purple?

I change my oil every 3k, using syn oil is good if you have no leaks if you have ANY leaks.. it will leak worse using syn, syn just keeps the internals from taking a crap on you, syn brakes down and creates less friction, meaning less heat = longer life on engine.. and better performance.

Its a bit more expensive.. but if you do it yourself.. and not at a NTB or somthing you will probably save like 40$ plus to a 10min oil change is bull****. I take a good 2 hours or so on mine.. i make sure all that old **** is OUT..

run some sea foam in the oil for about 1 hour before you change it. it will loosen up some of the sludge.

they say to change your oil every 3-5k.. i do it 3.. since im always on it.. normal dds useally can get away with 10k.. if you want to do it that way... your engine will last longer if you do it every 3-5 though.
