Default IAT location change?

What is the benefit of moving your IAT sensor from the TB to the air intake tube? I was reading through the tips and tricks on www.v8performance.com and it talks about moving it, but not what the benefit is? Will the air at that point be cooler?

The air should be cooler at the new location. This will cause the ignition to be advanced.

Do you have any info to back up that statement? I can't see how it could possibly help your MPG.

im with virused on this before i going doing this myself, granted my v6 dak got 14.5 mpg while babying the throttle... yeah im pretty damn certain my o2 sensors went to hell... anyone can chime in and agree with, plus any added mpg increaser will be nice, and if this sensor location swap proves itself, then im all over it

guess no one has any info on this, so I'll go ahead and do the mod myself, and I'll post fuel economy results for you guys. I want to do this anyways, it doesnt seem to be irrerersible for one, and two, it's a cheap mod.
