Need some advice
Ok so i almost bought a VW Sirrocco as a project car (i guess he got used to seeing it in his lot for years....) BUT it had a paper weight for a motor. So i was just gonna tow it but i got to thinking that my truck really isnt set up for that. Now i know that my 3.9 isnt the best but what can i do for a little bit of low end that wont be to extreme on my wallet.
I was thinking of underdrive pullys but after SurveyGuys post im not sure that is a good place to start. Tho im thinking thatreplacing my clutch fanwith anelectric one is a good idea. Any other thoughts out there?
And a V8 isnt an option, my truck stays til the bitter end!!

3500 pounds isnt much to tow as long as you've got a good hitch setup, i would say keep the clutch fan because if your electric fan isnt good enough you could run into overheating problems. same thing goes with underdrive pulleys, your accessories may not be able to handle the extra load. the best thing i could tell you is if maybe you had a set of stock rims and tires it wouldnt take so much to get it moving. I really think you'll be fine though. installing a transmission cooler might not be a bad idea though.

imo elec fans are much better than clutch fans
i've got an elec, with a metal blade no less....that thing turns on, truck cools down, even with a lack of coolant.
its funny waiting in line at the walk up atm at my bank, sounds diesel just idling, then the prop plane fan starts up.....
kids duck, moms jump, i chuckle.... hehe

Nice work batman, keeping the local on thier toes [sm=icon_sneaky.gif]
And i do have the stock rims but the tires on them are junk. 3+yrs of dry rot has raped them to death. I do need a real hitch to tow anywho (mine looks like it was for a civic stopped 3 people from damaging my truck when they rear ended me tho) so it will be brand new so that shouldnt be an issue.
And im looking at brake upgrades right now acually Just another reason to make it happen sooner rather than later i guess.
