so upon changing my spark plugs i fiddled with the air intake components

its seems that the air hat thingy doesnt really serve much of a purpose to me...other then a place to put a sensor of some sort (not sure what sensor it is atm)

well this put 2 ideas in my head

take air hat thingy off and replace with straight plumbing from tb to air box/cone

or plan be which is more complicated

take out intake plumbing
look at either modifying air hat thingy or the air box itself to mimick subarus intake (on the wrx and impreza)
modify hood to create a cowl induction (would look really good if u followed the middle 2 hood lines
and boom a sinplier intake system that takes in NO engine heat well kinda

what do u guys think

I like the lifted one with the direct filter, Looks awesome! But kinda pointless unless at cruising speeds. 4x4ing, that wouldn't do much good except maybe get a little bit cooler air but how much? Who knows, maybe none. But I get it improves performance greatly on the highway...

 

it helps because the air does not flow over the hot engine, so even idling the air charge is much cooler

 

Hey batman13 i noticed that in your signature you had a picture of your truck or atlest i think so. so my question is this what system did you use to lower your truck. i am thinking about doing this in the near future "no air under the truck go faster". thank you for any advice.

 

my sig is photoshopped, but im bagging it this summer and thats how its gonna look.
there is no "system" to get, you're gonna have to fabricate one out of components.

yea the top one is what im thinking of...

i dont do alot of 4x4ing to begin with and the stuff i do is NEVER extreme enough to cause water to reach a cowl area anyways
