That might now be good. Check your coolant and your oils. You might have a blown head gasket...

yhats what i remember from back in the day but havent been involed for a while, but i have no loss of power no rough start or idle, nothin and it wasnt a lot of milk, but ill always fix something imediatly before it does more damage.

say the head gasket is leaking how hard would it be to replace the heads?

If it's the 4.7 motor, it's common because of the huge *** neck on it.

moe in wichita ks
the milky gunk is water mixed in oil. what causes it? 1. engine not running hot enough.
2. the pcv valve ia not moveing enough air to take water out. first try a new pcv valve, if that doesnt fix it get a different brand. just cause its new doesnt mean it flows the right amount of air.

its condensation from the filler neck that gets hot and turns milkey... pretty common. you would know if you blew a head gasket.

Believe it or not, if it's a 4.7 it's normal. Due to the design of the filler neck, it condensates. I wipe mine off every time I'm under the hood. I also change my pcv valve every 3 oil changes. They're cheap. You must change your oil religiously, or you will develop a sludge problem. It is worse in the colder months. There are many posts on this. I asked the service manager at the dealer, and he said it is well known, and if the oil is changed at the recommended intervals, it will not affect the motor. RIGHT. If you switch over to synthetic oillike I did, it seems not to do it as bad ?

common problem there is a tsb out for a new oil cap and some baffle. they didnt have the baffle but i got the new cap for 9 bucks. its pretty much the same thing just instead of the cap being hollow there is a hard plastic cover on the bottom of the cap. not sure if it helped but im not worried about it to much.

if it is an air tight cap i can see some condensation forming at the cap, but if there isnt any milky look to the oil on the stick or when you change the oil then i wouldnt worry about it, just normal stuff. if you are worried about a head gasket, turn on the heater when the engine is hot and if you get cold air when the engine is hot, then you have a problem
