Default 2004 DODGE DAKODA 4X4....JUNK!

MY 2004 DODGE DAKODA 4X4 V6 3.7 , IS JUNK.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, BUT MY TRUCK WAS RUNNING FINE. I TOOK IT TO A FRIEND WHO IS ALSO A MECANIC, HOOKED THIS THING UP UNDER THE DASH TO READ THE COMPUTER. HE SAID IT HAD A CYLINDER NOT FIREING OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. AFTER THAT IT STARTED MISSING, THEN THE DAY IT RAN GOOD, THEN I STARTED IT THE NEXT DAY AND IT WAS TICKING LIKE THERE WAS NO OIL IN IT, SO I SHUT IT OFF AND CHECKED THE OIL AN IT WAS ABOUT A QUART LOW, SO I GET BACK IN MY TRUCK AN STARTED IT AND IT SOUNDED FINE. SO I PUT THE OIL IN WENT HOME THE ENGINE LIGHT EVEN WENT OFF, SO I SHUT IT OFF AND GO OUT THE NEXT DAY AND STARTED IT AND IT POPED AND SNAPPED REAL LOUD AN WAS MISSING BAD. I TOOK IT BACK TO MY FRIEND AND I ALMOST DIDNT MAKE IT THERE. IT KEPT POPING AND SNAPPING AND HARDLY WANTED TO RUN. HE SAID IT WAS'NT GOOD, HE THINKS IT HAS A BENT VAULVE, BUT TO BE SURE HE'LL HAVE TO TARE THE MOTOR DOWN JUST TO CONFIRM THAT. THE MASTER CYLINDER IS IN THE WAY SO HE CANT GET THE HEAD COVER OFF WITH OUT DOING ALL THAT ****. I GUESS MY QUESTION IS: MY TRUCK IS ONLY 4 YRS. OLD AND HAS ONLY 47,000 MILES, AND I HAVE ALWAYS CHANGED THE OIL AND BABIED MY TRUCK. WHEN I BOUGHT IT I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION FROM THE SALES MAN THAT IT CAME WITH A 7 YR. OR 70,000 MILE WARENTY, TO FIND OUT AFTER I BOUGHT IT ONLY HAD A 35,000 MILE WARENTY. I PAID CASH FOR MY TRUCK AFTER MY DAD DIED BECAUSE I WAS TIRED OF DRIVING USED CARS FALLING APART ALL THE TIME AND FIGURED IT WOULD LAST ME FOREVER IF I TAKE CARE OF IT. THE RADIO QUITS AN YOU HAVE TO TURN IT OFF THEN BACK ON TO GET IT TO WORK AGAIN, THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON, THE HEATER ONLY WORKS ON HIGH, BUT I GUESS THATS THE LEAST OF MY WORRIES NOW ! I THINK DODGE SHOULD PAY TO HAVE IT FIXED. IF THEY CAN'T BACK THEIR TRUCKS UP FOR LONGER THEN 4 YRS 47,000 MILES THEN I TELL YA I WILL NEVER BUY A DODGE AGAIN. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I DONT HAVE $3,000 TO FIX IT AND FAR AS IM CONCERND THE MOTOR IS SHOT AND ALLS THATS LEFT IS A PRETTY $22,000 DOLLAR PIECE OF **** !

its not junk, you just said you checked the oil and it was a quart low, then you wonder why you end up with serious engine failure.

the 7/75000 is the powertrain warranty engine transmission t-case ect the 3/36000 is the bumber to bumper, everything is covered, then engine should still be covered by the waranty call the dealer and ask if you have the powertrain waranty and if they say yes tell them you want the problem fixed

no way it should run fine one day, then fall apart the next, then run fine, then not.

even a quart low, it shouldnt just start failing on you like that.
dodge shouldn't have to pay for general matinance,
radios go bad, sensors fail, blower motor relays get old....
**** happens, sounds like all went to hell after your mechanic friend hooked up his computer......
how much do you really trust your mechanic?

P.S, that was really hard to read, try black, no bold, and turn caps off

electrical problems galore..
a quart low?a truckwith only 47,000 miles shouldnt be using oil. are you sure the miles are right? check carfax to see what has been done to it.

get a tune up and take it to an auto electric shop. then take it to the DEALER for a complete analysis to find out exactly what is wrong...your mechanic friend sounds like a bozo

your warranty is for 75,000 miles so you are covered on thepowertrain

frm what that sounds, could be a bad coil, the 4.7 guys should know this, and if it makes you feel better did an oil change on my truck the other day, good thing to, only 1 and 3/4 quarts of oil came out of the pan, oil pan bolt was loose from when i had the pan bolt repaired, the guy had it snug, bolt barely torqued... and if you had a bent valve, or anything of that matter, from what ive seen and experienced from working on tractor trailers, truck would be smoking, rattling like a bastered, etc, just competle chaos, ive got some horror pics of a deroit diesel series 60, gu ysaid he was runnin the engine around 1800 rpms, and all of a sudden the engine was just FUBAR, valve dropped on cylinder 2, putting a hole into the piston, valve made a new guide in the cylinder head, also wiping out the injector, piston crown looked like the surface of the moon, cylinder liner destroyed, ya that was a fun rebuild, but yea get a tune up and have those coils checked out by the dealer under the warranty claim, if its still covered, thats what i would do

moe in wichita ks

if you use marvel mystery oil in each tank of gas. you will Not need to add fuel system cleaner at all. mmo will KEEP fuel system clean, and it will lube the fuel pump, injectors, valves, piston rings. heard a story about a guy that had an airplain, that he used mmo. the faa said it must get an overhaul. when it was taken apart the mechenics said that it DIDNT need overhauled, it was clean as new. mmo should seal the rings, and reduce oil comsumtion. on my last gallon of mmo i anded a pint or maybe qt of 2 cycle oil to one gal of mmo, i have put 4 oz of this mix in 4 times which is equal to one full tank of gas. it seams to be ok.
