the easiest would be replace all your rods, new valves and springs, a good de-sludging
good for another 200k

and that can be all done without taking out the block?

what if the cyliander walls are bad?

what if i just get a 4.7 that aint running and bore/stroke it?

yea, the daks are built so you can do essentially everything without taking the block out,
god knows i've done enough....

it would be easier to pull the block but you dont actually have to do it

you're talking about a connecting rod right?

I'm with Tom, the cheapest way to go is to replace the rods. Check you block man, make sure the cylinder walls are not damaged. I would check it all while your in there. Rods, bearings, pistons crank and I would probably go ahead and rebuild considering the miles on the motor.

If you decide to do a swap, research Hemidak's work on his Hemi swap. I love the 4.7 and 5.9 but there is a tremendous amount of aftermarket support for the Hemi.

well when i get some wheels and get back to my truck(it broke down about 3 hours away) ill pull the intake/heads/oil pan to look for damage. and in talking about the rods that connect from the crank to the pistons

do u suggest i pull the motor? and if i do plan on keeping the 4.7L im gonna bore/stroke it!!!

i also subscribed to his thread abotu teh hemi swap...but the picture on the wireing on page 2 made me literalty say **** THAT!!!!

i also got suggested to talk to painless wireing company and see if thell make me a fully custom wireing kit to directly swap out the 4.7L to the 5.7 without any hardwiring myself(pretty much all plug and play kit)
