Default No heat on low fan

04 Dakota

The fan does not blow real hard on low setting.
When I am sitting at a stop sign, it makes my feet cold, but picks up when I drive over 20. Same is true for the dash vents.
The second speed seems to be ok for now.

It only does that on heater, not a/c. I lived with it last year. I don't want to anymore.

The dealer claimed the relay was ok.
The dealer said it would be 500 to take the dash apart. It would be covered under warranty if it was a car problem-I would be on the hook if it was a mouse nest (I didn't smell mouse)

Please tell me my options.

1. Have the radiator flushed.

2. It really IS the relay.
2a. Could this be done at home by me? I am semi handy but cars are serious money.

admin: feel free to move this to 2nd gen. I should not post after 10pm

Default Next step

I had the thermostat changed, coolant changed and back flushed the heater core. $$$
(S*** I wish I could do my own work.)

I have not really been able to test the problem because the November is unseasonable warm.

I did buy a resistor and will replace it when it comes in.

If those do not fix my problem, what next?

Need help.

Went and complained to the dealer about their 475 fix

He refunded half of the money as credit.

I will be using it to do a fluid change on the tranney and differentials

good to hear you didnt let the dealer completely bone you, maintenance stuff like this can be very easy with just some basic tools, and some books (like hanes) you can get at your local store.
