Default Traded a Z28 for a 99 dakota r/t

yeah I know.. kudos for ditching the chevy right? lol Really though Im a dodge guy through and through.. the Z was the only chevy I have ever owned..
Now to the point.. the truck is incomplete.. It has a mild build.. small cam.. headers.. K&N cold air.. underdrive pulleys.. Dual flowmaster exhaust..ect.ect.. the trans is supposed to be out of a 2005 3/4 ton.. but i dont know for sure.. all i know is first gear is super low ....
but its the paint I am in the air about.... I am going with the idea to keep the deep amethyst purple... but what kind of stripe do ya'll think would look good on her.. if any??? and yes.. I plan on ditching the 20 inch wheels!!

Looks like a good project! You should post this in the 2nd Generation Dakota sub-forum. I will move it there for you.

Nice lookin' truck. At first when you said 20" wheels, I was like, "aww hell no"....but now that I actually see them...they don't look that bad. I don't care for the wheel style much (I think 5 spokes would look much better), but the 20" wheels actually don't look that bad. My opinion anyways...

As far as striping...herrmmm.....how about some ghost flames down the hood and front panels?? Eh....idk. Just a thought...

THOSE rims are ridiculous...but 20" doesn't look that bad on that truck. That's the first time I've ever seen 20's on an RT. Some Stainless 5 spokes with some fat slicks on em...I think it would look sick..but that's just me.

if the tranny is an auto it's the stocker probably, other wise it's a nv4500 (manual and yes it will have a VERY short first gear, more of towing gear, and usually you can start in second in this tranny. )

i like the wheels, the tires are ridiculously fat.

you wouldnt happen to know the backspace/offset on those would you? im a fan of 5 spokes but those are pretty cool in my book

i'd like to see an offset stripe like the new vipers have

Thanks for the replies.
Some good thoughts guys! Ghost flames would look good..Not sure I can afford it though.. will have to see how much more it would cost me (I cant paint)
as to the rims.. They are the first thing thats going.. I found some factory ones.. but have yet to take a look at them.. might do that today.. I hope they are off an r/t problem with those big rims.. the tire slightly rubs the bumper cover when you turn it sharp.. and I really dislike the style..
The trans is a 5 speed..and your right.. taking off in 2nd is what I did after the first time driving..heck if in first.. pull out onto the road..you need to shift before you even make it into your lane lol

you wouldnt happen to know the backspace/offset on those would you? im a fan of 5 spokes but those are pretty cool in my book
Not yet.. I just got the truck friday eveneing.. then the weather pretty much killed any thoughts of doing anything.. but when I get them off.. Ill make a note of it for ya
