Dang, lots of pages on this post. But for all those who want to do a hemi swap and you want the entire vehicle so that you have all the parts: Go to COPART, we have one here in Savannah and there are bunches in other places. They sell whole wrecked vehicles almost exclusively. I have a 2001 Dakota with the 4.7, I bought it from an old lady who couldnt drive anymore for only $330, I slammed a battery in it and its essentially a perfect truck. At that low of a price I can pretty much go anywhere with modifying it and still have no more in the truck than its worth. A 5.7 just might be the direction I go. Does anyone have an idea what the best year and model chrysler product will have the ideal swap components? I'm assuming its going to end up being a 1500 near the same year, but what I know about dodges you could put in a thimble and still have room for a sip of sweet tea.

LOL..just came across this thread while thinking about dropping a 5.7L in my '08 Dakota.

HemiDak-Quad is a TRUE AMERICAN badass for not only attempting this but staying with the project and pulling it off!!!

GREAT Video.

May his HEMI Dak Rest in Peace!!!!

I have an '04 Dakota Crew cab 4x4 and a 2005 Dodge ram 4x4 that is wrecked I want to replace the 3.7 out of the dakota with the hemi in my wrecked 05 ram. My question is can it be done with the same amount of fabrication and is it worth the work?

Sorry guys , I had to move , so I haven't been on this sight in a LONG time.. I know it's really late , but to mopar noob04 Yes it's worth every bit of time , and head ache once you drive it down the road and know "YOU DID IT" , The Hemi has 365 hp "Factory" , but once you do away with the CATS and manual fan , then add dual exhaust , re-locate the plug wires, and put a chip in it you're spinning 400 hp + ....OHHHHH- Yeaaaaa - Baby....It feels good ....Trust me - I know...This is what gets me ..." Back in the Day" .... In order to get that much HP out of a motor , we would sacrifice gas mileage , we got like 8-10 mpg..My Hemi gets 18-20 mpg on the hwy..That's pretty damned good "I think"...
Thanks guys for fallowing my thread , I'm back now and I'll try to get on line more often..I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler I'm trying to figure out a way to put a Hemi in..This will be the biggest challenge yet...
