I already planned on doing the double roller timing chain at the same time as the cam .

when you install a cam, you absolutely should replace the lifters and timing set at the same time. pushrods can be reused. and yes they are hydraulic lifters.
you cannot run a higher lift rocker with a cam. stick with the stock 1.6. You can, and are recommended, you get 1.6 roller rockers. they are stronger than stock, therefore have less deflection. they have less parasitic loss too.
Valve springs are the next issue. Can your stockers handle the lift of the new cam? Will you get valve float?
Choosing a cam is the hardest part. If you have few/no mods, you arent gonna want a cam designed for high rpms. And then of course there is the issue of vacuum and possible error codes.
So whatever is out there, i would go with a lesser aggressive street cam if i were you.

Umm why can you not run 1.7s with a cam, custom pushrods and a higher lift is the outcome, and as long as the valve covers and clear it, and everything else is correct. Running 1.7s can be done, and is going to be done on my truck.

You CAN use higher lift rockers if you want. Just do it right.

Now if your telling him not to use higher lift, then maybe, but like i already said i think he should worry about doing the simple bolt ons and doing the heads/cam last.

This way he will know what he wants to do, now if he was starting with just a block then i would say do the cam first and build around that as thats what your suppose to do, but im sure hes not doing this.

youre right user im not building from the block and i think im going to take youre advice and hold off on the cam till i swap the heads and just do them both at the same time makes more sense after hearing what you had to say . so instead i bought a set of 4:10s to throw in it .That will satisfy my want to spend money on my baby for right now, next week ill start pricing out heads and looking at everything i will need and lay out a game plan of what i want to add.

Meaning that although what you said is correct it is not what he was talking about...

It's strange how I quoted him, wanted an answer from him, and yet, you responded.

Now if you could wait to respond to the until he responds, that would be wonderful.
