looking to buy first dakota

Default looking to buy first dakota

well im getting my license in may, and i got the family minivan. (o joy) was able to sell it and got about 4500. what can i get for that much in terms of mileage, year/engine etc. any year to steer clear of?
i live in south jersey if that matters.

avoid the 3.9 if you are looking for power. 4.7 5.2 5.9 are all solid motors

power isnt really much of an issue i dont really plan on muddin and im only towing a 1000lb boat/motor/trailer

look on craigslist to see whats available in your area if you want used from a private seller. thats what I did, and got a 4.7 with 114k for a little over $6k

Got mine stock wit 63k and 4.7 for 7400 which was blue book

Get a 4.7 or 5.2 if you can... if you don't need the power as much the 4.7 for sure. It has just a tad less power but better reliability and gas milage.

i just was looking up my towing capacity and come to find out my DAKOTA!!! can tow more than my step-dad's gmc sierra 1500 full crew cab with the 5.3L LMFAO my step-dad doesn't find it that funny lol

How come I can only get offers on my truck for 4,000 its only got 83,000 miles. I bought it 2 years ago with 73,000 miles and only paid 6,318.86 out the door.

well mine came with some decent mods. i needed a truck so i was willing to pay. he wanted like 6500 i think. but 4k seems low considering your low mileage and the 5.2?

prolly the economy, people arent looking for anything with a v8 at this point.

and grats on the only putting 10k on it in 2 years, i bought my truck in oct of 07 with 63k and as of last week im sitting at 88k lol i drive a lot 30mi everday round trip to school and work, on my previous car every monday i would put 100mi on it going back and forth between the school's two campuses
