There are three special tools you need and all tolerances are called off in the FSM. The tools are a large hex tool (the same size as the torsion bar end) to turn the carrier adjusters, a dial indicator with a magnetic stand to measure ring gear backlash, and a foot pound torque wrench.
Honestly, they are not hard, they are just very time consuming. It took me about 5 hours to put mine in and that was the first time I had ever opened up a rear axle. Its been working flawlessly for the past year.

The pinion has shims and a crush sleeve. The shims set the pinion depth, the crush sleeve sets the bearing preload.
But for installing a LSD, it doesn't matter. You don't have to mess with the pinion. Loosen the carrier, take it out, swap the ring gear and ABS exciter ring over, set it back in, set the backlash and carrier bearing preload, put it all back together and you're done.

95, do you have an knowledge of the powertrax no slip? I've just heard about it. Basically a locker using clutches, and its supposable a easy install... I'm still doing research on it, but everyone has said good things on it and that it is easy to install, but I haven't found out why yet...
