Default Looking for some help guys...

Isn't really Dakota related but I'm looking for some help...

I want to buy a new DD. It has to be a car and awd. I might keep the dakota for when I need it but I'm really looking for a car. Anything under $10,000... Just looking for ideas.

So far I'm thinking about audi's, either an a4 or if I can find an s4, but thats it so far. What else is out there and awd? Maybe a subaru, but not really a fan of them.

Anyway, just looking for some ideas. Sorry it's not dakota related.

Thanks a ton in advance.

r32's are sick, but they made like 5 lol. And they are wicked expensive. Trust me already looked lol. Volvos are real cool too, but my mother and girl friend both have one... so thats kinda not cool haha.

What else is there? I REALLY want an S4 but they are expensive and hard to find... this sucks.

I am biased AGAINST VWs (and, as such Audis, since they are essentially the same). My buddy had one, and he and I sat down and figured out the total cost of ownership of the car and came to the conclusion he could have bought an M5 for about $45 more a month.

How about an Eclipse GSX? Other than that, I am thinking WRX STi.

Out of your choices, SUBARU! Scrap the VW's, Audi's, BMW's etc.... Subaru's are reliable, AWD (most of them). Two things to remember with them. Make sure to keep up on the basic maintenance like Timing belts, not to let them overheat, and always replace all four tires at a time. Great cars though.

I agree. Subaru's are about you best bet for your price range. VW's are terrible for maintenance in my experience and any Audi's are going to be out of your price range. If you wanted a really unique and cool AWD drive car you could look for a early 90's Izuzu Impulse RS, but they're really rare at this stage in the game.

I just went through this type of search. For me I was looking for a small SUV Great MPG, nothing below 20mpg city. A minimum AWD, but wanted 4wd with low. After lots of web searches I found the Rav4 to be my choice. I went to test drive one. Next to it was a Suzuki Grand Vitara. 20MPG 4wd with a 4low V6 it was everything I wanted.

Here are a few questions to help narrow your search.

Great MPG? Get a number and don't below that number. Don't trust any MPG numbers expect from the federal site. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/sbs.htm

Are you looking for high MPG 4cly or a more HP slightly less MPG with a V6?

Are you looking only for a car? A small hatchback crossover car? A small SUV? Do you need the cargo room of the hatchback or SUV? Do you need more seats?

Do you need AWD or more. 4WD with a low range?

What year is minimum?

What is your minimum price since your max is $10,000?

For me a few other options were the Subaru outback/ Forester, Toyota Rav4, Honda CRV, Kia Sportage, Mozda Tribute.
