I think there really is a tranny problem this time...
Ok so I just got back from muddin on some trails then I got my truck stuck in a giant pit of water (wasnt smart for me to try it anyway I know).
Anyway, on my way home the truck didnt feel like it had the power it had before I started which I thought hey, it the spare I put on could have something to do with it (valve stem broke on my left front) but then as I was driving up my hill, it would not upshift or downshift then it just died basically rpm shot up wouldnt go, downshifted, then it went and i pulled into the driveway. Soo.... you think its the tranny (this time)?

when you put the engine under a load does it vibrate between 1800 and 2500 rpm? do you get a sputtering from your exhaust? check engine light on? Im sitting here looking at the picture of your truck, your exhaust pipe is lowest part of the truck. Its highly likely you sucked up water into your combustion chamber. Ive done it a dozen times. Or if you have a CAI some water may have splashed under your hood and your intake sucked up water doing the same exact thing. both of those are easy to fix. if you have a CEL on, and no scanner, this is how you can find which cylinder is misfiring, if it is so...run the truck, pull the wires with a set of needle nose pliers, so you dont get shocked, and if it changes the idle of the truck, that cylinder is firing correctly, if not, thats the cylinder thats got water in it. usually it gets into more then one. most ive had at one time is 3. if a good dose of sea-foam doesnt work, pull the fore said plugs and squirt some WD-40 into the combustion table via the spark plug bore holes. spray about enough WD-40 to fill the palm of your hand. Let it set for a couple minutes, reinstall plugs, then run the truck...should smoke....you dont want to drown the plugs so dont spray too much. If that doesnt work post back.

Well there isnt anything wrong with the engine from what I can see its just when I came up my hill i was pretty sure it was a tranny problem. that thing just decided not to go in the middle of the road in my neighborhood then went. the rpm shot up like I said to.
ok well, transmission usually wont cause the truck to feel like it has a power loss. water wont affect the transmission because....its sealed...your engine tells your tranny when to shift...not the other way around...and you cant see...water in the engine...so i was simply offering a professional opinion, being that i am a "professional" auto tech. now i was stating from the info you gave us, you have truck in water...lowest part of truck is exhaust....tail pipe acts as straw when you let off gas...hmmm... one could assume that perhaps some water ended up where it didnt need to... sorry, but dont ask for help if you're gonna blow it off...
Well I didnt think tranny would be effected since it is sealed and such but im also paranoid bout the 46RE. Im no expert and I will be the first to tell ya. I was going to try your fix tomorrow as well anyway so I will report back.
Just a bit paranoid is all. Sorry for offending.

Thanks. Just cleaned my truck going to try this once I get some time here.
I also wondered which wires your talking about pulling?
and the engine was pretty far under water most of it was covered but i dont think the top was and the right side mostly left side.
