haven't been on for a while...
lost my girl, Pearl... last monday evening.
Left turn, got smacked corner to corner. Didn't look bad at first, but in the end she has bent frame and insurance appraiser decided she was too far gone.
Didn't even get to keep her for parts. Only had ~86000miles (138000km)
looking at either a Liberty or Nitro now...

Dakota 4.7 V8 blown head gasket
My 4.7L quad cab Dakota is drinking radiator fluid by the gallon every tank of gas. The heater is blasting 150F hot. I fixed a leaking radiator hose but it still drinks green rad fluid. So I fill radiator from the cold cap because the reservoir is always empty. Nothing on the ground unless its pressurized full & hot when I stop. Oil seems fine no water in it. I top off fluids constantly. Odd that it runs smooth and strong. Most anything with 185K miles is in need of major rebuild or replacement.
Project on hold; it is 5 F degrees out. My funds are gone, no job. I would turn it into the junk yard for cash but the quad comfort must be worth $4k without an engine, and 8 to 10 if I restore it. I spoke to an engine re-builder who said not to drive it because more than likely head gasket is leaking into the cylinders. He suggested I label every disconnect with a tape number and use a warm garage. Dilemma is to rebuild engine, replace engine, or run it till she drops.
