Default 4.7 5-speed Conversion

I have an 02 dak QC 2x4 with the 4.7 and 4 speed auto. I was just curious about the work needed to convert to a 5 speed manual. I know ide have to find an NV3500, given that that would be the easiest switch. As far as computers, im pretty sure it would require a switch as well. Reverse lights, neutral saftey switch? Im not a rookie to truck work, but ive never done a tranny swap before, looking for some advice and tips. OR should I just got with a B&M ratchet shifter! Any help is greatly appriciated
Thanks in advance

They actually made a number of 4.7 5 speeds factory compared to say the 5.2, you'd be a lot better off trading trucks.

It really isn't worth it, the 4.7 auto tranny is the 45rfe, which is practically bullet proof behind the 4.7. I had an NV4500 that I was going to put behind mine but decided not to, and now I have 187,000 miles on the trans and still no problems.

As much as I miss stick, it just isn't a practical swap.

That being said, it can be done, you will need a NV3500 with a hemi bellhousing, all your pedals from a similar year with a manual trans, and a manual trans PCM to not throw codes. From there, it is just like any other manual swap.

The only problem I have with the trans. is that its auto. I found a couple of donor trucks that were totaled. This way I can actually look at what I have to do

Default Did you ever figure it out?

I too am interested in doing a nv3500 mt conversion on my 2004 dodge Dakota and I was curious if you ever figured out how to do it on your truck.
