Default Help!! need a vin number..

hi. is there someone who can give me a vin number of there dakota?
i need it becouse i need a new ecm and they only make them after vin numbers and i canīt give them mine becouse i replaced the v6 with a v8.

it would be best to get a vin of a similar truck and not with the Anti theft Vehicle security (ATVS) trucks who have the ATVS have grey plastic on their keys and those who dont have ATVS have black plastic on the keys and its a little thinner.

it would be best to get a vin from a 1997 dakota 5.2 v8 4x4 Automatic transmission and with NO ATVS

with out a vin from someone my truck is useless and you dont have to worry about me using it for something illegal becouse i live far away in Iceland. so just send it in PM or if you know how to get a vin some where.

thank you.

Go pull one from a v8 out of a junk yard or get a vin off one of those... I HIGHLY doubt someone will give you a vin here...

You can use your own VIN. Just change the engine code to reflect what engine you have and then modify the "check digit." Do a web search (do you Google?) on dakota vin decoder and it'll help you with the check digit.

Yeah good call or even try autotrader.com and cars.com, you will probably find more on there. They post up the vin numbers as well.

Here, use this:
http://www.dakota-truck.net/VIN/
Click submit without even entering your VIN and it will tell you what every character means.
