Default Bulb question for a 2k dak

I cannot find what the map light bulbs are. Everything says 579 but that is a wedge type bulb. These look like cartridge fuses. I want to turn everything red lit internally. Any ideas/suggestions?

Have you yanked the bubls out yet? I just ordered some for my dome light and made sure they were the correct ones. My dome light is a wedge type bulb and im assuming yours might be too. If you havent pulled them out yet go ahead and do so. Also some where in DF there is a post about all the bulb types.

Dome is a 579 wedge-type. The ones I'm looking for are the ones for the two map lights on the overhead console. They look like glass fuses and I can't seem to find out what they are. There is nothing stamped or etched on the bulbs.

2k Dak out of the owners manual, switched dome - 578.

Try that.

Yep, it's a 578! My owners manual calls it a 579. I pulled one out and brought it in to work with me and it's stamped on the end cap in about 1mm lettering. Thanks!!!!
