What are you planning on doing to it exactly? Are we talking change the spark plugs and oil kinda of tune up or we talking engine rebuild kind of tune up?
I am planning on doing a tune up on my dak and was wondering what would be the easiest way to do it my self?
Not quite sure what you mean by easiest way... A 'tune up' is pretty straight forward. You're probably talking plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, oil & filter, and if its an auto; a tranny flush.
Everything except the trans flush is pretty straight forward. If you're unsure on how to do some of the things, get a haynes service manual. That will help you get the firing order right if you get things mixed up changing wires and what not. If you need any more information let us know.
Not tryin to thread jack but i just went to change my plugs and realized theres some heat shields around the plugs and my plug socket wont fit, can i pull these off or do i have to go find a thinner walled socket
Make a diagram to keep your wires straight if you need to. That is what I do. Or hold the orientation of the cap and set it somewhere with the wires on it where you can trace the wires from the plugs back to the cap one at a time.
