Default 390 stroker kit

I have a 5.2 5 speed and I'm thinking of putting a 390 stroker kit in it. Does anybody know about how much power that will give me? Will the clutch and transmission hold up?

trans wont hold up to the power, i think guys use the 727 trans for a 408stroker or something like that. and what HP? depends on mods etc. hard to say other than more than stock.

I would say 350hp is realistic with all the correct supporting mods. (intake, cam, full exhaust, a good tune, not sure if you need injectors...) you get the point. Will you be running the stock heads? I would at least get them port and polished while you have it apart if you are sticking with the stock heads.

The tranny will hold up for a while, the NV3500 has been deep into the 10s behind 408s. The biggest thing that will kill the tranny is shock loads (very aggressive shifts). Don't know when the stock clutch will slip, mines been holding up with 7PSI (aprox 400+ ft/lbs) no problem.
